Waldemaro Morgese: who is he?

Waldemaro Morgese is a columnist, essayist and writer born in Mola di Bari in 1945.

He was a manager at the highest level of the Regional Council of Puglia and, in this capacity, director of the Teca del Mediterraneo (Multimedia Library of the Regional Council of Puglia) from 1994 to 2010 and responsible for institutional communication of the Council from 2002 to 2010. He was a project leader of international projects in Russia, USA, Albania, Greece, Montenegro, Poland.


He was a lecturer in economic-business disciplines in universities for many years, as well as a teacher in post-university master's courses. He founded with others the non-profit association Le Antiche Ville and the Ecomuseo del Poggio di Mola in Bari, to enhance an area rich in ancient villas. He founded the rural library "Il Poggio". He was president of the Apulian section of the Italian Library Association for two terms.


He is the author of numerous publications and of novels and collections of short stories: "Città buie" (Il Grillo Editore), "Il discobolo" (FaLvision Editore), "Il tempo equal" (Les Flaneurs Edizioni), "The warriors change" (Homo Scrivens Edizioni), "Shamans, Arab phoenixes, yellow bananas and mambo" (Giazira Scrivens Edizioni), "Maternal moonlit nights" (Homo Scrivens Edizioni). Among other things he has published: "Ephemeral culture. Feeding the mind in the forgotten South" (Edizioni dal Sud), "Gran Berlin. Sweet and bitter Germany" (Radici Future Produzioni), "Katastrofé. Italy in the Coronavirus" ( Edizioni dal Sud), "Present Absences" (Edizioni dal Sud).

He told his life story in Multitask. A complicated life between liberalism and laborism (Edizioni dal Sud, Bari 2014).



His editorials and articles have been published in "La Gazzetta dell'Economia", "EPolis Bari", "Corriere del Mezzogiorno", "La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno". He is a columnist for the weekly "EPolis Bari inweek", where he writes the "Multiverso" column every Friday. His writings are featured in professional journals.
